Fuyun – XinJiang China

Whilst  returning from the Northern most areas of Xinjiang on our way to photograph the Rainbow city, the rocky gravel Tundra of the southern parts of Altay Prefecture leading to Fuyun extends for miles and miles.

As we noticed some good weather conditions developing, storm clouds and rain on the horizon, we saw a rolling range of hills in the Tundra.

A quick word to our guide and once again the trusty Landcruiser was off the black top and onto gravel a track in the tundra .  We drove past numerous Kazakh huts, herds of camels and horses on our way into the hills.

As the weather continued to develop,  we drove as far as we could before jumping out of the 4WD and hiking to higher ground for a better vantage point.

To the north we were greeted by dark storm clouds,  to the south, the sun was shining through showers in the distance.  Soon the rain was falling on us too and after a few more minutes of shooting and a last taking in of the views and it was time to get down the hill and back into the Landcruiser and continue on our journey to Fuyun.
