The Spirit of Antarctica Photography Expedition Announcement – Dec 2014

It is with great pleasure that I publicly announce that I will be co-leading the Spirit of Antarctica photography expedition in Dec 2014 with my good friend and colleague, Joshua Holko.

This expedition sets sail from Ushuaia in South America. We will sail across the notorious Drake Passage and will visit some of the première locations for photography in Antarctica.

There will even be an opportunity to spend a night ashore camping in Antarctica for those that are feeling brave. I know I will be camping!  We will then return sail across the Drake Passage before docking in Peurto Williams. A connecting flight (included in the expedition cost) will then take you back to Punta Arenas in South America for connecting flights home.

The Spirit of Antarctica

On this expedition we plan to visit some truly amazing locations including the breathtaking Lemaire Channel, the Gerlache Straight and the surreal geothermal Deception Island, to name but a few. This expedition is for a strictly limited number of 50 participants plus leaders and expedition guides we will be sharing with both kayakers and climbers. There is an option to sea kayak as well as participate in climbing activities. Whilst most trips to Antarctica take 100+ tourists this expedition is capped at a maximum of 50 participants in order to ensure the best possible experience.

We will be using an ice hardened expedition ship with a very experienced crew in order to ensure we can get as close as possible to the big ice and place you in the best locations for making photographs. Our expedition ship the ‘Polar Pioneer’ is equipped with sufficient zodiacs and crew for all photographers to be shooting simultaneously with plenty of room for spare camera equipment.

If you like the idea of visiting and photographing some of the most breathtaking locations that our planet has to offer, rarely visited by tourists excites,  then please register your interest through my contact page or email me directly at antony@antonywatson.com.

Places are limited and are on a first come first served basis.
